After two years in 1976 she left the university with $ 35 in a taxi and the driver steps on to ask her a place to put it where it all happens, the driver dropped her off at Times Square in the heart of New York. That's at least the version that Madonna was sold to the press. Madonna visited this church, where a statue of St. Martin of Porres comes to life and her passionate coast.Madonna supports that the real offender, and the wrongly accused man (who is represented by the statue of St. Martin of Porres) is released. The Vatican called it a blasphemous video because of the mixture of eroticism and Catholic symbols. Pepsi said a million contract with Madonna. Despite (or because of) this controversy was the single worldwide number 1 hit. The song is a hit again in 2002 in the version of Mad'House, and then added into the mix went to Sensation Anthem 2004 by DJ Paul Elstak and Neophyte.Recently (March 2010) Like a prayer re-released by Meck ft. The album is also the song Hanky Panky, a modest hit. Vogue was not initially intended tobe released as a single. Madonna wrote the song together with Shep Pettibone specifically for the B-side of the (then still vinyl) single Keep It Together. When she did hear the song to music executives of Warner Music, everyone agrees: this song was too good for a B-side. It was decided to bring it as a single and the song was added to the soundtrack for Dick Tracy (even though it had nothing to do with the film). Thus, "complained" they instance in Rotterdam that it is still too lightoutside so its light show is not easily seen. Madonna in Toronto threatens arrest if they do not adjust her show. Some visitors of the show after seem to have complained because of obscene behavior Madonna on stage. This is the infamous execution of the oriental version of the song Like a Virgin meant. Madonna touched her during the song (covered) breasts, grabs her crotch and at the end of the song she simulates an orgasm by violently amok on the bed while she is fondled by two background dancers. Madonna refused to dial to adjust or remove her show and just enter the number. The police arrested her, once the concert is over, Madonna is already on his way to the airport to fly to the next town for a gig the next day.

The show was considered controversial because of the use of Catholic symbols like the cross and priest and non nenhabijten whilethe show also a high content of sexuality and contains profanity. This is the reason for Pope John Paul II to the people of Italy calling to boycott the concert in Rome. Madonna must indeed be one of her shows in Rome to cancel and was furious that someone so couldjudge without having seen the show. She invited the pope therefore one of her shows in Rome to attend. As expected, he refused this offer. Her next album is apparently dedicated to him. Since then, relations between Madonna and the Vatican has not improved.

The American singer Madonna is widely regarded as one of the most controversial person in pop history. For more than 30 years she knows the attention of the public to hold new, for some, shocking images and looks. She takes itself so frequently the anger of one or more (often Christian) organizations on the neck and even the Pope had made themselves heard when the video for Like a Prayer was released in which she is dancing for burning crosses and kissed by a "dark "Jesus. Other infamous video clips are those of Express Yourself (SM and bondage), Justify my love (the first clip ever on MTV just after 23.00 should be transmitted) and erotica that shows images of her project, the book Sex in which she is naked in different settings that the erotic fantasies of alter-ego "Dita" portray.

Sex and religion form a guiding principle throughout her career. In 1990, after Madonna's Blond Ambition concert in Toronto almost arrested in the execution of a masturbation scene Like a Virgin SatThe Blond Ambition Tour will be processed later in the documentary In Bed with Madonna in which she gives us a look behind the scenes of the tour and include shows how she gives a blow-job on the basis of a bottle.

In 2003, the clip that she initially had made for American Life withdrawn by Warner Brothers after images were leaked. There was a riot in America, where Madonna was vilified by the media for anti-patriotism. A simple version that only the singer for international flags show was subsequently released. The original clip was an indictment of the war in Iraq and the policies of then-President Bush and showed such Iraqi, Palestinian and Jewish children between soldiers on the catwalk. The clip ends with Madonna, which throws the public in a hand grenade which is picked up by Bush. The next row is formed by the tongzoen with Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera during the opening of the MTV Awards.

Critics say Madonna is no more than an attention-getter that makes ingenious use of the media to her position of Queen of Pop to keep. But she also used her popularity to draw attention to the problems in the world, again using controversy and shocking images. As with the implementation of "Live To Tell" during her Confessions Tour, where they hung a cross glitter complete with crown of thorns sings while images of children and AIDS Bible texts in the background can be seen. Religious organizations around the world have protested and called it blasphemy, according to the artist himself was a call to the global AIDS problem under the spotlight.

For Live Earth, an organization against global warming, in 2007 she took the free download single, Hey You and provided to the clip of shocking images of natural disasters, famine, AIDS, etc. and exchanged it with positive images of children playing and flowering nature. The song and the clip became the theme song for the Live Earth concerts around the world.

In 2008, shares Madonna during her Sticky & Sweet Tour again put forward to him by President Bush in a video montage to depict in the same breath with dictators and even Hitler, while Obama is compared with the Dalai Lama (Tenzin Gyatso).
